How do you use the cheaters 20 to defend your town?

I am level 43 on the rolling with it quest and it says "use a cheaters 20 to defend your town" I thought you just clicked on the die then on the building that was destroyed but that didn't work, any help please would be appreciated

When your buildings are under attack, you click the shield in the top right corner of the screen and all buildings under attack are defended.
