How do I update "Tapped Out" to match up to my friends so I can go to their towns?

Question

Starting today, I started getting "so-and-so has more updated stuff than you do! Update!". I have uninstalled/reinstalled the game to no avail. Usually, updates come in automatically. I don't get it....Also, does anyone know why the game keeps freezing dozens of times a day on my mini iPad?? ACKK!! Help please! Thank you in advance. :D

You need to update your app via the App/Play store

Thank you! Ya know, an interesting thing happened--after the whole Monorail rush was over and 5 billion folks weren't playing at the same time, all the crazy glitches went away!! Thank god. PS:  I did try to update at the App store and weirdly enough, I couldn't figure out how to do that for a specific game. :(
