I seem to have lost the ability to view dialogue?

Question

I find that when I click on the excliamation point, or onto the character itself, it seems the game skipps the dialog and goes directly to the task list.  sup wid dat?

Sometimes with some quests, no dialogue appears and the quest just comes up abruptly. One other thing - you could be involuntarily skipping through the dialogue very quickly.

Otherwise, I have no real answer to this.
